Dr. Agan has studied and practiced several disciplines of psychology and family therapy.
For several decades he has continued Jungian analytical training which integrates psychology and spirituality in finding meaning through life’s dilemmas and seeks to include the conscious and the unconscious human experience in self-discovery and relational health. Has served as an instructor at the Jung Center of Houston for twenty-five years, teaching a variety of courses to teachable, engaging adults.
Since 1998, Herb Agan, Ed.D. has served as an adjunct lecturer in Clinical Psychology at the University of Houston.
He has taught Child Development, Human Sexuality, Psychology of Gender, Cultural Psychology, Problems of Normal Life and Honors Psychology and Religion. Currently, he teaches two auditorium-size classes of Introduction to Psychology. He feels honored and humbled to instruct and to learn from the next generation of eager young adults.
For sixteen years Dr. Agan served as an Examiner on the State Board of Examiners of Psychologists in Austin. He has also been certified as a Medicare provider for Clinical Practice as a Psychologist, since 2016.
Dr. Agan has been working with couples and families for over 40 years.
